Higher Ground consists of real stories about children who were caught up in the Boxing Day 2004 tsunami, retold by children's authors including Judy Allen, Eoin Colfer, Gillian Cross and many more. The book has an introduction by Michael Morpurgo, the former Children's Laureate, and cover artwork by award-winning children's artist Michael Foreman. The stories are emotionally powerful but the purpose is positive – focusing on how money raised by charities has helped rebuild people’s lives.
The book is available on 6th of October and will be sold in aid of five children’s charities: Unicef Save the Children, Y Care International,SOS Children,Handicap International
